Broadus admitted the drug was his and was released, the sheriff's office said.

Former Judge Challenges Harris County District Attorney
From The Houston Chronicle:
A retired Houston judge shocked GOP officials Wednesday by filing to run against incumbent Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos in the March primary.
Retired state District Judge Mike Anderson ended months of rumors about a possible bid just a day after several area police unions joined forces to chastise Lykos for being "antagonistic" toward law enforcement. Union officials singled out her policy of prosecuting crack cocaine residue cases as misdemeanors instead of felonies, which Anderson seized on.
Comment: District Attorneys who are soft on crime (prosecuting felony possession cases as misdemeanors) can expect primary challenges, especially when running as a Republican. Further, this DA is obviously politically tone-deaf to have chosen sides against law enforcement.
